Wedding Planning Tip: How to Nail Your Seating Plan

Seating plans can be one of the most difficult parts of your wedding planning, so here are a few tips on how to make it as easy as possible.

1. Keep it a secret!
I cannot stress enough - do not tell people pre wedding where they'll be sitting. The last thing you need is Cousin Tom refusing to sit next to Auntie Margaret because of something that went down 6 years ago. Keep it to yourself!

2. Put people who know each other together
It's tempting to want to split people up sometimes, maybe so that everyone can get to know each other and the families can blend. But actually, you want your guests to have a good time at your wedding! So keeping familiar people together will be the easiest way to do that, they have the whole rest of the day to get to know their new blended family.

3. Work in order of importance
This can be a little controversial, as you don't want anyone to feel less important. BUT, you do need to think about who will be sitting closest to you on your wedding day. Who do you actually want to be spending your time with? So, start with your closest family and friends and work backwards, it will be easiest to group everyone else after this.
