Buckminster Barn: A Dry Hire Wedding Venue

Buckminster Barn: A Dry Hire Wedding Venue

Buckminster Barn is a stunning rustic wedding venue located in the heart of the Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire countryside. The most unique thing about the venue, is that it is dry hire: meaning that you can create your own unique day with no limitations.

What Does Dry Hire Mean?

When planning your dream wedding, you may come across the term “dry hire.” Unlike traditional wedding venues—commonly known as “wet hire”—which include in-house catering, bar services, and a list of preferred suppliers, a dry hire venue offers you the flexibility to personalise every detail. A dry hire wedding venue provides the space, often with minimal restrictions, allowing you to bring in your own choice of caterers, decorators, florists, and entertainment. This means you can craft a completely bespoke wedding day that reflects your unique style and vision.

For this photoshoot, we collaborated with an exceptional team of wedding suppliers, each contributing their expertise to highlight the versatility of Buckminster Barn. The colour scheme I selected—dove blue and pale grey—was thoughtfully chosen to complement the serene countryside surroundings and the cozy, romantic feel of a winter wedding. From florals to table settings, every detail showcased how this idyllic venue can be tailored to suit a variety of styles and seasons, making it the perfect backdrop for your special day.

Buckminster Barn has both round tables and trestle tables for hire, along with wooden cross back chairs. I decided on pale grey table linen as the base with dove blue table runners and chair drapes. Circular floral centrepieces surrounding floating candles, and silver beaded charger plates radiated luxury. The table settings were completed with pale grey napkins to match the linen and individual biscuit place name cards, an adorable favour idea for your guests.

Buckminster Barn has two levels: a ceremony area downstairs and a dining area upstairs. Whilst you enjoy your wedding breakfast, the downstairs area will be transformed into your evening reception do! Guests can be welcomed by a striking bespoke sign at the top of the staircase to the wedding breakfast area.

The Barn also has a large private garden just outside as an area to enjoy your drinks reception following your vows. With so many options available, you can even have an outdoor bar!
